Figuring out what to wear for a day of shopping or for a quick lunch with friends can be a little more cumbersome than putting together an outfit for a cocktail party or date night. Funny enough the latter always feels more intimidating when really by slipping on a great dress, heels, a pretty bracelet and your good to go. 

Looking casual and still put together is a bit of an art, it takes some practice! So, Here's my first 'Street Style' Post; once a week we'll take a look at some perfectly styled day time outfits and see how they can help us out!

Here the denim caught my eye. A polished straight leg distressed with a couple tears and paired with a heel makes both looks balanced for a relaxed day. Cover up with a Classic Leather Jacket or Long-sleeved Cardigan and there you go.

As most iPhone users know, this new social media App is quite the addiction! A quick and pretty way to showcase the little shots you take with your phone throughout the day. I usually upload for golden and golden when I see something inspiring or when I'm plain ol' bored! I really do love me a little leopard print, and it's never a bad thing to add a comfy pair of TOMS to my collection. So it's safe to say the stars alined a when I noticed the release of these TOMS at Neiman Marcus.

This time of year we're zipped up from our knees to our chins in bulky coats and hooded knits but who's to say we can't hide something feminine and special under all that garb? It's a bit festive and a nice surprise for the gentleman taking our coat and even ourselves when we catch a glimpse of the little something dazzling around our necks!

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies

I've been trying to perfect my Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe over the weekend. (not such a bad chore really..!) The first batch was decent. The second batch a little scorched (oops!) and once I decided not to be shy with the Cinnamon and Nutmeg, the 3rd batch was pretty delicious!

INGREDIENTS:

1 Cup Margarine

1 1/2 Cups Sugar

1/2 Cup Brown Sugar

2 Eggs

2 Tsp Pure Vanilla

1 Can Pumpkin Puree

4 Cups Flour

1 1/2 Tsp Baking Powder

1 Tsp Baking Soda 

1 Tsp Salt

1 Tbl Spoon Cinnamon

1 Tbl Spoon Nutmeg

1 Bag of Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Pre-Heat Oven to 375 Degrees and Grease your Cookie Sheet

2. Cream Together the Margarine and Sugars. 

Beat in Eggs one at a time.

Stir in Vanilla & Pumpkin until well Blended

3. Combine Flour, Baking Soda, Baking Powder, Salt, Cinnamon and Nutmeg in Separate Bowl

Stir this into Pumpkin Mixture

4. Mix in the Chocolate Chips

Take a Taste... or Two! :)

5. Spoon Small Mounds an inch or so apart on your Cookie Sheet 

6. Bake for 11-13 Mins

7. Cool on Rack

8. Serve with Cold Milk and Enjoy!

Autumn Hues At Our Finger Tips

There are a TON of new fun nail polishing trends going on right now! Some I really do plan on giving a try but since I can be pretty particular and a tad minimal in my nail color and manicure perfection these solid colors are in the top Autumn rotation!

This has been an everyday for me for the last couple weeks. It takes on a Maroon/Shimmering Brown in some lights and also does perfect in it's main job as being the most beautiful deep purple.

~Big Smoke ~

If there were a warm shade of blue this would be the one. The color shimmers with drama and sophistication.

~The Old Bill ~

This the the most GORGEOUS blend of gold and bronze I've ever slid across my nails. I've been waiting all through summer to manicure my nails with this color. (I was so into pinks and punchy corals but this would have been a perfect color to complement tanned summer skin!) Time is now though so Apply it. Top Coat it. Love it.

Just because we tend to grab our phones whenever we're looking for time doesn't mean we can't have a pretty watch on our wrist too! If fact it could be nice to train our eye to glance down to our wrists for the time and your phone for communications. We can bring a little old school in our lives, with a new watch!

Pucker Up

It's very easy to slide on a little lipgloss through out the day and call it good. Especially during the summer months where less always seems to be more. I've been thinking though, now that it's a little cooler and the weather can be a little on the dreary side. It's nice to be able to spice up your Autumn and put some color on your lips!

When I wear lipstick (which really is a rare occasion) it's normally saved for evening but a nice bright coral or soft pink could be very cute to wear during the day too!
